Big Lagoon
Big Lagoon is the crown jewel of Tour A and arguably the most photographed spot in El Nido. This breathtaking lagoon is enclosed by dramatic limestone karst formations that rise vertically from crystal-clear, emerald-green waters.
The lagoon is entered through a narrow channel between the cliffs, opening into a wide, shallow area perfect for kayaking. The water is calm and the limestone walls create an amphitheater effect that makes the colors even more vivid.
During peak season, Big Lagoon can get crowded as nearly every Tour A boat stops here. Early morning or late afternoon visits tend to be quieter. Kayaking is the best way to explore the far reaches of the lagoon where the boats can't go.
The standard way in: a shared bangka from El Nido town beach that stops at Big Lagoon along with three other spots.

Head to the El Nido town beach early in the morning (7:00-8:00 AM). Tour A boats depart between 8:30-9:00 AM.

Join Tour A island hopping (P1,200/person including lunch). Big Lagoon is typically the first or second stop.

The boat ride to Big Lagoon takes about 30-40 minutes from town. You'll enter through a narrow channel between limestone cliffs.

Once inside, rent a kayak (P200) to explore deeper into the lagoon. The back channels are the most beautiful and quietest part.
Costs more but you set the schedule, which is the only reliable way to reach the lagoon before the tour fleet arrives.

Arrange a private bangka the day before through your hotel or an operator on Calle Hama. Agree on the departure time in writing.

Leave the town beach by 6:30am to arrive ahead of the Tour A boats and pay the El Nido eco-tourism fee if you have not already.

Rent a kayak at the lagoon entrance (₱200). Private boats are not allowed to paddle inside either.
