Altrove is a genuine Italian restaurant run by Italian expats, serving wood-fired pizzas, handmade pasta, and imported Italian ingredients. In a town full of tourist restaurants, Altrove stands out for quality and authenticity.
The thin-crust pizzas are the star: baked in a proper wood-fired oven, they rival pizza you'd find in Italy. The pasta dishes use homemade noodles and real Italian sauces. They also have a small but good selection of Italian wines.
The restaurant is relatively small and gets packed at dinner. Reservations aren't taken, so arrive by 6:30 PM to get a table.
Local tip
Go early (6:00-6:30 PM) for dinner, because there's always a wait by 7 PM. The margherita pizza and carbonara are both excellent.
