Mt. Tapyas
Mt. Tapyas is Coron's signature viewpoint: a concrete stairway of over 700 steps leading to a hilltop cross with 360-degree views over the town, Coron Bay, and the surrounding islands. The climb takes about 20-30 minutes at a moderate pace.
The viewpoint is most popular at sunset, when the sky lights up over the islands to the west. The giant letters spelling "CORON" near the top make for great photos, and on clear days you can see all the way to the outer islands.
The climb is straightforward but steep. There's no shade, so avoid midday. Bring water and start at least 30 minutes before sunset for the best experience.

Walk or take a tricycle to the base of Mt. Tapyas (behind the town, near the water tower). The stairs start at a concrete path.

Stop at the CORON letters for photos, then continue to the cross at the summit for the panoramic view.
