Lake Manguao

Lake Manguao (also called Lake Danao) sits in the hills ten minutes' drive east of Taytay, then a 3-kilometer walk from the drop-off to the water's edge. It's a protected area with no development on its shores at all. The lake holds three endemic fish species and the surrounding forest counts over 130 bird species, which makes it quietly famous among birders and unknown to almost everyone else. Kayaking, camping, and guided walks can be arranged in Taytay. On most days you will have all 640 hectares to yourself.
