The journey from Puerto Princesa to Port Barton takes 3-4 hours by shared van, passing through the Palawan interior and descending to the western coast. The last hour of the road is unpaved and can be bumpy, especially in the rainy season.

This route is popular with backpackers heading to Port Barton as an alternative to the more touristy El Nido. The scenery transitions from flatlands to mountains to coastal views.

  2. Roxas Junction Rest
    ~100 km from start 10-15 min here
    Brief stop at the junction town. Some vans make a comfort break here.
  3. Port Barton End
    ~150 km from start Arrival here
    Arrival at Port Barton village. The van drops you near the beach.

Book at San Jose Terminal or through your hotel. Morning departures recommended.

Last section is rough: the unpaved road can be muddy in rain. Sit near the front for less bouncing.
