The ferry between El Nido and Coron is one of the most scenic sea routes in the Philippines, passing through the stunning limestone islands of the Bacuit Archipelago. Fast ferries operate daily (weather permitting) and the journey takes 3.5-4 hours.

Two main operators run this route: Montenegro Lines and Bunso. Boats are modern fast crafts with air conditioning. The ride can be rough in bad weather, especially during the southwest monsoon (June-October).

  1. El Nido Port Start
0 km from start Check-in 1 hour before here
Departure from the El Nido pier. Check-in opens 1 hour before departure. Morning departures (usually 6:00-8:00 AM).
  2. Open Sea Crossing Highlight
~30 km from start 1.5-2 hours here
The boat leaves the sheltered Bacuit Bay and enters the open Sulu Sea. This is where it can get rough. Beautiful views of the limestone islands as you depart.
Tip: Keep your camera ready as you leave. The views of El Nido's islands from the sea are spectacular.
  3. Coron Port End
~130 km from start Arrival here
Arrival at Coron pier. Tricycles are available to take you to your hotel in town (P50-100).

Book 1-2 days ahead in peak season because seats sell out.

Take motion sickness medication if you're prone to seasickness. The open sea section can be rough.

Sit near the middle of the boat for less rocking.

Bring a jacket: the AC is usually very cold.
