Brgy. New Agutaya Mangrove Forest

Mangrove Easy mangrove nature eco-tourism sunset

The mangrove forest in Barangay New Agutaya is one of the best-preserved mangrove ecosystems in San Vicente. A raised boardwalk winds through the dense mangroves, allowing visitors to walk among the tangled roots and observe the rich ecosystem up close.

Paddle boat tours (P200-300) take you deeper into the mangrove channels, where you can spot crabs, mudskippers, kingfishers, and other wildlife. At sunset, the tour becomes magical as the light filters through the mangrove canopy.

The mangroves play a crucial role in protecting the coastline and serving as nurseries for fish and shellfish. The community-managed project shows how conservation and tourism can coexist.

Local tip
Take the paddle boat tour at sunset. The light through the mangroves is beautiful and you might spot fireflies as darkness falls. Support the community project with a donation.
