The Palawan Museum, housed in the former city hall building, provides a compact overview of Palawan's history, from prehistoric Tabon Cave artifacts to Spanish colonial era relics, WWII memorabilia, and exhibits on the indigenous Tagbanua and Batak peoples.
The natural history section showcases Palawan's unique biodiversity, including mounted specimens of endemic species like the Palawan peacock-pheasant, bearcat, and Philippine pangolin. There are also exhibits on marine ecosystems and conservation efforts.
A visit takes about 30-45 minutes. It's a good rainy-day activity or a way to learn about Palawan's rich cultural heritage before exploring the province.
