About
Baker's Hill is one of Puerto Princesa's most popular family attractions: a hilltop estate combining a bakery, gardens, souvenir shops, and panoramic viewpoints. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with topiaries, life-size statues, and flower gardens.
The main draw is the bakery, famous for its hopia (Filipino flaky pastries filled with mung bean, ube, or pork). These make excellent pasalubong (souvenir gifts) and are best bought fresh. The hilltop also has a restaurant with views over the city and Honda Bay.
Entrance is free, and it's a pleasant place to spend an hour walking the gardens and sampling pastries. Popular with both tourists and locals, especially on weekends.
Local tip
Buy the ube hopia and cashew tarts fresh from the bakery. They sell out by afternoon. Go early for fewer crowds. The viewpoint terrace has the best sunset.
