Estrella Falls is one of Puerto Princesa's best-kept secrets: a beautiful jungle waterfall about 45 minutes south of the city. The falls cascade into a natural pool surrounded by tropical vegetation, perfect for a refreshing swim after the short hike.

The trail to the falls is about 20-30 minutes through jungle and crosses a river several times (water shoes recommended). The path is well-marked but can be slippery after rain. A local guide is recommended but not required.

Very few tourists visit Estrella Falls, making it a peaceful escape from the more popular attractions. Best combined with a trip to the nearby Irawan Eco Park.

  3. Hike 20-30 minutes through the jungle, crossing the river several times.
