Araw Beach

Beach Easy beach camping stargazing expedition sunset

Araw Beach is a long stretch of white sand on the mainland coast of Linapacan, frequently used as the overnight camping spot for multi-day expedition boats between El Nido and Coron. The beach is wide, clean, and backed by palm trees and tropical forest.

Camping here under the stars, with the sound of gentle waves and a million-star sky (no light pollution), is one of the most memorable experiences of the El Nido-Coron expedition. Crews set up tents and cook dinner on the beach.

The sunset from Araw Beach is spectacular, facing west over the Sulu Sea with no land visible on the horizon. Dawn brings equally stunning light as the sun rises behind the Linapacan mountains.

Local tip
If you're on an expedition boat, request Araw Beach as the overnight camping spot. The stargazing here is absolutely incredible, with zero light pollution.
