About
Snake Island (Vigan Island) is famous for its dramatic S-shaped sandbar that connects the island to the mainland at low tide. The winding ribbon of sand through turquoise water is one of the most iconic and photographed views in El Nido.
Part of Tour B, the sandbar is best visited at low tide when you can walk the full serpentine length. At high tide, only parts of the sandbar are visible. The island itself has a short trail to a viewpoint overlooking the sandbar. This is where the classic aerial-view photos are taken.
Swimming on both sides of the sandbar is excellent, with calm water of different depths. It's a unique geological formation that never gets old.
Local tip
Visit at low tide for the full sandbar walk. Climb the short trail on the island for the iconic overhead viewpoint photo. Check tide charts before booking Tour B.
