Lio Beach is a planned beach development near El Nido's Lio Airport, created by the Ayala group. It's the most developed and upscale beach area near El Nido, with boutique resorts, restaurants, and shops along a 4-kilometer stretch of calm, golden sand.
The beach is excellent for swimming: calm, shallow, and well-maintained. The resort area has a curated village vibe with art installations, a craft brewery (Birdhouse), organic restaurants, and beach clubs.
While more expensive and "resort-ish" than El Nido town, Lio offers a comfortable base for travelers who want quality accommodation and easy airport access. It's about 20 minutes from El Nido town by tricycle.
Local tip
Even if you're not staying here, visit Lio for a meal at one of the restaurants. The food quality is higher than town. The Birdhouse Brewery has craft beer you won't find elsewhere in El Nido.
