Cathedral Cave is one of the hidden gems on Tour C in El Nido. This dramatic limestone cave earns its name from the soaring interior that resembles a Gothic cathedral, with natural light filtering through openings in the rock above.
Inside, you'll find impressive stalactite and stalagmite formations, some estimated to be millions of years old. The main chamber is large enough to stand in and has an almost spiritual quality when the light hits right.
Access is usually by boat, with a short wade or swim to the cave entrance. The cave floor can be slippery, so water shoes are recommended.
Local tip
Visit around midday when the sunlight shines directly through the cave openings, creating dramatic light beams.
