Maremegmeg Tidal Pool

Nature Easy nature swimming unique sunset free

At the southern rocky end of Las Cabanas (Maremegmeg) Beach, natural tidal pools form among the limestone rocks during high tide. These shallow, warm pools offer a unique swimming experience, like natural infinity pools overlooking the open sea.

The pools are best visited at mid to high tide when they're full enough to swim in. At low tide, they're mostly exposed rock. The location offers a different perspective on the famous Las Cabanas sunset, viewed from the rocky headland rather than the sandy beach.

It's a short walk from the main Las Cabanas beach area, past the zipline platform. Few tourists venture this far along the rocks.

Local tip
Visit at high tide (check tide charts) when the pools are deepest. Combine with the Las Cabanas sunset and watch from the rock pools for a different angle than the crowded beach.
