Twin Lagoon consists of two stunning lagoons connected by a small gap in a limestone wall. You can swim through the opening at lower tide or climb over a wooden ladder at high tide. The lagoons feature an unusual thermal layer: the bottom water is warm (from geothermal activity) while the surface is cool.
The limestone walls surrounding the lagoons are draped in vegetation and rise dramatically from the water, creating an enclosed, almost cathedral-like atmosphere. The water ranges from turquoise to deep blue depending on the depth.
Twin Lagoon is usually combined with Kayangan Lake on the same island hopping tour, making for an incredible day of natural swimming pools.
Local tip
Dive down a couple meters to feel the dramatic temperature change. The bottom layer is warm like a bath! It's a surreal experience.
